Use SharelyApp from ChatGPT or Claude

Connect a chat app to your SharelyApp account, then ask in plain words to see your calendar, answer booking requests or update your services and hours. Connecting a chat app is part of Sharely Pro.

The address

Paste this into the chat app when it asks for a server or connector URL.

https://api.sharelyapp.com/mcp

Add the connection from a computer: most chat apps only offer it in their web or desktop app.

How to connect

1

Add SharelyApp to the chat app

Add a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude and paste the address above. The steps for each app are below.

2

Sign in to SharelyApp

A SharelyApp page opens. Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a passkey. The code goes on that page, never into the chat.

3

Allow access

The page names the chat app and lists the permissions it asks for. Choose Allow access to approve them.

4

Start asking

Ask “List my businesses”, then name the one you mean. Each work profile is a business to the assistant.

In ChatGPT

  1. In a browser, open chatgpt.com and go to Plugins in the sidebar. OpenAI has also called these connectors and apps.
  2. Choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Name it SharelyApp, paste the address into Server URL and set Authentication to OAuth.
  4. Create it, then sign in to SharelyApp and allow access.
  5. In a new chat, type @ and pick SharelyApp.

Whether you can add a custom server depends on your ChatGPT plan, and on your admin in a Business or Enterprise workspace.

In Claude

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors, on claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app.
  2. Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it SharelyApp and paste the address into MCP server URL. Leave any OAuth client ID and secret empty.
  4. Add it, then sign in to SharelyApp and allow access.
  5. In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and switch SharelyApp on.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organisation owner adds the connector first; members then connect it. Once added, it also appears in Claude’s phone app.

Chat apps rename their menus often. If yours look different, look for an option to add a custom connector or MCP server.

What each permission allows

The SharelyApp page lists the permissions the chat app asks for. They cover every business on your account, including ones you add later.

Read

Your businesses, services, working hours, time off and languages, and your appointments and booking requests with customer names. A customer’s contact details and notes only when you open one appointment.

Services

Add, edit and reorder services, with their texts in each language, prices and reminder messages.

Business details and languages

Edit your business name, description, contact details and social links, choose which contact details your booking page shows, and add, remove or reorder languages. Removing a language deletes its texts.

Schedule

Change working hours and add, edit or delete time off. This changes when customers can book; booked appointments are never moved or cancelled.

Create and edit appointments

Book appointments for your customers and change their date, time, service or details.

Manage appointments

Approve or reject booking requests, and cancel, reinstate or permanently delete appointments. Appointments a customer booked can be cancelled, and deleted only once cancelled.

Images

Create a private link, valid for a few minutes, where you add or replace your business photo or a service photo. Images are public once uploaded.

Your customers may get an email when an appointment is created, moved or cancelled, or a request is approved or rejected, just as when you do it in the app.

What a chat app can’t do

Country, time zone, currency and publishing

These stay in the SharelyApp app, as does whether your booking page is published.

Phone and email verification

You enter verification codes in the SharelyApp app. A chat app never handles one-time codes.

Your customer list

A chat app sees customers only through their appointments and booking requests.

It asks before changing anything

The assistant says exactly what it will change, with the date and time where they matter, and waits for you to confirm. Keep your chat app’s own approval setting on asking first for changes.

Disconnect any time

In the SharelyApp app, open your work profile’s settings, then Integrations, AI Chat bots, and disconnect the chat app. You can also remove SharelyApp in the chat app’s settings. Deleting your SharelyApp account removes every connection.

Your customers’ details

What a chat app reads goes to its provider under your own agreement with them. More in our Privacy Policy.

Common questions

Do I need Sharely Pro?

Yes. Connecting a chat app is part of Sharely Pro. Without it, the SharelyApp page can’t allow access and a connected chat app stops working.

Which businesses can it see?

Every business on your account, including ones you add later. It works on one business at a time: the one you name.

The chat app asks for a client ID or a secret

Leave them empty: SharelyApp registers the chat app on its own. Never give a chat app a password or a code from SharelyApp.

The assistant says it doesn’t have permission

The connection doesn’t include that permission. Disconnect it, connect again and allow the permission the chat app asks for.
